  • Check out the State Parks!  The Groton Library has available a free day pass to any VT state park, good for a vehicle with up to 8 people. For details, or to check it out, stop by the library or call 584-3358.
  • Community meals is now in operation in Groton provided by the Groton Community Food Program.  Thursdays at noon at Brown's Market Bistro (584-4124) . More information and how to help.
  • The Planning Commission has submitted the new Groton Town Plan to the selectboard which has set the date of August 6 at 6:00 pm for a public hearing. Click here to download a copy of the latest draft (1,582kb). Copies are also available at the Town Hall. 
  • Saturdays, Groton Growers Summer Market.  Every Saturday, 9 am – noon. Features local growers and their produce. Veterans Memorial Park across from the old general store in Groton Village.

  • Mon, June 29 - July 10 Groton Swim Lessons at Boulder Beach on Lake Groton. 10:00 - 10:45 am. Everyone be there by 9:45 am on the first day.  Pre-registration and payment required before June 29th at the Groton Town Clerk's office.  Fee for Swimming lessons: Residents/ property owners - $ 6.00, Non- Residents - $35.00.
  • Mon, June 29 - Balloon Animals Library Program by Daniel Jolley 1:00 pm at the Groton Library. All are welcome.
  • Fri, July 3 - Town Offices closed in observance of the July 4th holiday.
  • Sat, July 4 - Groton Growers Summer Market. 9 am – noon. Local  produce at Veterans Memorial Park across from the old general store.
  • Sun, July 5 - Fireworks at dusk on Lake Groton. Boulder Beach State Park admission will be free starting at 7:30 pm.  Fireworks sponsored by the Lake Groton Association. Rain date July 11th.
  • Sun, July 5 & Mon, the 6th - Vermont Boaters Safety Course at the Groton Forest Nature Center.  For more information, click here or contact Jim Soutar at 479-2400 during weekdays.

  • Mon, July 6 - Origami for Kids Library Program by Deb Orelup 1:00 pm at the Groton Library. All are welcome.
  • Thurs, July 9 -  Methodist Church Summer Supper 5:30 pm until all are served.  Traditional Covered dish by our famous "Church Ladies" - great eating!  Donation. 
  • Thurs, July 9 - First Summer Music in the Park at the Groton Bandstand - Alan Greenleaf and "The Doctor".
  • Sat, July 11 - Groton Growers Summer Market. 9 am –noon. Local  produce at Veterans Memorial Park across from the old general store.

  • Mon, Aug 3- Fri, Aug 7 - Vacation Bible School at the First Baptist Church of Groton- from 9:30-11:30AM, for 4yrs-6th grade.  The theme is "Polar Extreme" so it will be a cool experience during the hot, hazy, dog days of summer!  Call 584-3556 to preregister by July 20, 2009.
  • Mon, Aug 3 - Wrap Up Party Library Program 1:00 pm at the Groton Library. All are welcome.
  • Mon, Aug 10 - Wed, Aug 12 Vacation Bible School at the United Methodist Church from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, for 4yrs-6th grade. The theme is "Flight School" Faithfully Living in God's Holy Truth - learn through bible stories, games, and crafts. Snacks/drinks provided. Registration: Monday August 10th at 5:15 PM.
